This year’s concert and festival season kicked off for SOS speaker Jochen with the “Phil it! Phil Collins Tribute Show” on February 7, 2026, at Trifolion (2, Porte Saint Willibrord, Echternach, Luxembourg).
ometimes you want to reminisce about the 70s, 80s and 90s. Genesis. Phil Collins. The big hits from back then. Since Phil Collins no longer tours, or is unable to, his best cover band is the perfect substitute: ‘Phil it!’ from Germany. The group brings every venue to absolute enthusiasm, or, as lead vocalist Sascha Schmitz says during the show: ‘Escalate!’ And suddenly people are standing close to the stage, dancing, singing along, laughing, a connection is created between them, something called sympathetic intelligence.
‘Phil it’ has it all – rock songs and slow ballads, ‘I Wish It Would Rain Down’ as well as ‘Jesus He Knows Me’. Before the start of ‘In the Air Tonight’, Sascha Schmitz leaves the stage and comes back on from behind, just like in Collins’ original video. A beautiful, fitting tribute to the great British singer. For ‘Phil it’, their performance means recognition, appreciation and humility towards an exceptional artist and his musical legacy. For the audience, it means a unique evening.
