“Any reduction in the amount of accessible UHF spectrum would have a direct and significant impact on my ability to work effectively. A diminished spectrum would lead to a more crowded RF environment, increasing the likelihood of interference, dropouts, and compromised audio quality. This would not only make my work more technically challenging, but could also affect my professional reputation and reliability on set. Furthermore, the financial implications would be substantial. The equipment I own represents a considerable investment, amounting to many thousands of pounds. If key frequency bands were removed or became unusable, I could be forced to replace large portions of my kit prematurely, resulting in significant unplanned expenditure.
In addition, reduced spectrum access could limit the scale or type of jobs I am able to take on, ultimately impacting my earning potential within an already competitive industry.”
Another RF Manager:
“There’s a lot of question that we don’t really understand here. I pay my license every 2 years to Ofcom, so keep channel 38”
